The ABWM is one of the ways in which people apply their skills, and talents to serve God and others. In addition to special activities throughout the year the ladies in the ABWM support the annual mission offerings to the American Baptist Churches, USA.

Visit to the Agape Center, Bloomsburg

On Monday, April 10 seven folks from our church toured the Agape Center at their new location on Railroad Street in Bloomsburg. Eileen Chapman, the Center’s CEO, was very gracious in answering any questions as she showed us around. Agape provides many services to Columbia and Montour county residents, and there are plans in the works for even more as they grow into the large complex. Afterward we all went out for a delicious lunch at the Perkin’s in Buckhorn. The Agape center’s website is here if you want to learn more, &/or find out how to volunteer.
Linus Blankets Made for Women’s Center
On February 20th the ABWM made Linus Blankets for donation to the Women’s Center near Bloomsburg. The blankets don’t require much in the way of sewing, but the results are soft and snuggly. They are intended for children who receive services through the Women’s Center. The donation also included 18 hand crocheted women’s hats that had been made by other church folks.
